Frequently Asked Questions

How is a comprehensive exam different from a regular check-up?
A regular check-up is a periodic review for maintenance. A comprehensive exam is a complete, deep-dive investigation performed for new patients or every 3-5 years. It creates a full baseline of your health, including a detailed periodontal chart, oral cancer screening, and bite analysis that isn't always part of a standard 6-month visit.
Will I get my teeth cleaned on the same day?
Ideally, yes! However, the comprehensive exam includes a Periodontal Evaluation to check your gum health first. If we find signs of gum disease, we may need to schedule a specialized deep cleaning or a longer appointment to ensure we treat the infection properly.
I haven't been to the dentist in years. Will I be judged?
Absolutely not. We pride ourselves on providing a Judgment-Free Environment. Our goal is to help you move forward with a personalized roadmap for your health, regardless of how long it has been since your last visit.
Are the X-rays safe?
Yes. We use Low-Radiation Digital X-rays, which emit significantly less radiation than traditional film X-rays. These images are essential for us to see "beneath the surface" and detect decay, bone loss, or cysts that aren't visible to the naked eye.
What happens during the Oral Cancer Screening?
This is a quick and painless visual and physical examination included in your exam. We check the soft tissues of your mouth, throat, and neck for any abnormalities. It is a vital preventive measure to catch potential issues early when they are most treatable.
